Ambassador Safa Al-Khaldi met with H.E. Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs Juraj Blanár. This meeting took place following his assumption of duties and after the newly elected government received the confidence of the Slovak Parliament.
Ambassador Al-Khalidi presented a comprehensive overview of all developments regarding the genocide campaign and war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, as well as the ongoing aggression, incursions, and settler terrorism in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
She also called on Slovakia to do what it can through its role in the European Union and international forums such as the United Nations and the Human Rights Council to support the Palestinian demands for a ceasefire and to move forward in a clear and defined political path that leads to ending the occupation and establishing the State of Palestine as an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and to obtain full membership in the United Nations.
H.E. the Minister expressed his concern over the human losses resulting from the war in the Gaza Strip, most of which are children and women, as well as the massive destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure. He stated that Slovakia will seek to support efforts to achieve a ceasefire and provide humanitarian aid through the European Union, the United Nations, and relevant international institutions. He also affirmed that they will support international initiatives to implement the two-state solution and achieve peace for both peoples.
