Safa Khaldi started her studies at the University of Suez Canal in Egypt, where she got her bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Education. She went on to gain a Master’s degree in Diplomacy, as well as a diploma of Information Technology and Diplomacy, at the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies – University of Malta in 1997.
During the course of her career, Safa Khaldi has completed several workshops and seminars in her field, notably on Crisis Management at The Palestinian Center for the Dissemination of Democracy and Society Development in Palestine in 2004 and Review Mechanism on the UN Convention against Corruption and UN Convention of Transnational Organized Crime in Qatar in 2019.
Ambassador Khaldi has held several positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine in the years 1996 – 2007. From 2008 to this day, her career is dedicated to strengthening bilateral relations between the Palestinian government and UN organisations in Vienna. Safa Khaldi has served as an expert in several fields in UN organisations, most notably as Chair of the Task Force of the G77 and China on UNODC matters and Chair of the Experts working group of the Arab States representatives in Vienna on drugs and criminal justice matters.
She has served as Deputy Ambassador and to UN and International Organizations in Vienna and focal point of the State of Palestine to regional and international groups based in the UN in Vienna. In August 2023, Safa Khaldi assumed the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Slovak Republic. She has since organised several courtesy visits as well as meetings with representatives of the Slovak government, academia, as well as journalist and religious institutions and other Ambassadors. The focus of her work as Ambassador has been on spreading awareness about the Israeli occupation in Palestine, its violations of human rights and the dire need for aid in the humanitarian crisis the occupation has caused, especially in the Gaza Strip.
Madam Ambassador has been in contact with Slovak civil associations which have expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.
