On 29. August 2023, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Slovakia, Her Excellency Safa Khaldi, took part in the celebrations of the 79th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising in Banská Bystrica, that was held in the presence of the President of Slovakia - Her Excellency Zuzana Čaputová, the Prime Minister of Slovakia - Mr. Ľudovít Ódor, as well as the Minister of Defense - Mr. Martin Sklenár, Minister of Foreign Affairs - Miroslav Wlachovský, and other representatives of the Slovak government and the Diplomatic Corps accredited in the Slovak Republic.
Ambassador Khaldi laid a wreath decorated with the Palestinian flag at the SNP Memorial in Banská Bystrica, on behalf of the President of the State of Palestine, His Excellency Mahmoud Abbas.
Additionally, Ambassador Khaldi and the Palestinian embassy team participated in the ceremony of the same occasion that took place in the capital city - Bratislava.
